Milk chocolate body with fudge and strawberry flavours. Particularly suited to longer milk drinks.
Throwback was conceived as a nod to espresso’s past, a simple and traditional blend that offers a balance of rich chocolatey body and fruity aftertaste without the need for darker roasting or low grade Robusta.
This winter version features a 50/50 blend of two washed coffees from Mexico and Rwanda.
We have been buying from Finca Muxbal in Chiapas Mexico since 2012 and Jorge harvests the highest sectors of the farm exclusively for Small Batch. We have also been working on some drying projects with him this year that we hope will only improve the quality of this delicious all-rounder. Caramel and black tea notes add base to the blend.
Karambi is a new washing station in Nyamasheke, Rwanda owned by Edmond Kanyamibwa. Although Karambi is a new project we have been working with Edmond and buying coffee from his other washing station, Kanya, for several years and are very familiar with the quality and consistency we can expect from Edmond’s coffees. This lot adds milk chocolate and red berry notes to the cup.
The combination of two great, high grown washed coffees makes this version of Throwback beautifully balanced and super easy to work with and a blend that works perfectly for longer milk drinks.
